I’m not sure what to make of this…

“A BILL TO Provide a system of national service for young persons; and for connected purposes.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—”

This has slipped under the radar pretty well, hasn’t it. I was wondering what you made of this…

It’s a private members’ bill that does not have government support; normally I wouldn’t make much of it, but there has been some agitation to give more prominence to such bills lately so… we’ll have to see what happens.

It fits the current hard-line ideology aimed at under 25s, especially if it is unpaid.

Are MPs still able to claim £15 each day off a price of a meal while at Westminster? How many people have been referred to foodbanks since MPs have been on their hols? Why will most politicians not discuss a “living wage” in Parliament?

Now NHS workers are not going to get the pay rise promised- on average £10 a month. And still MPs claim up to £15 off one meal at Westminster.. Shame on them.
