Remember reading a article in the Time magazine US version back in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s a article on American regulation and ethics of American Local Government ideals, i remember that one of there objectives was without a doubt the minimum amount of unemployment required to achieve a regulated employment market to keep wages at a minimum – if my memory serves me correctly this was around 2% to 3% for local an national ideals. Makes a joke of all this mumbo jumbo about people not wanting to work, which you hear on a daily basis from the politicians.
If the government wants two million unemployed it would make sense to treat them ok, if only to keep them from kicking off.
