This clip is Channel 4 comedy The Last Leg‘s response to Paddy Power’s Oscar Pistorius advert. It contains some extremely strong language and imagery but if you can take it, it deserves to be seen.
Many of you will be aware that the bookie Paddy Power has been taking bets on the outcome of the Oscar Pistorius trial, running an advert that caused extreme offence and attracted more than 5,000 complaints.
The company was eventually forced to stop using the commercial by the Advertising Standards Authority (although I believe it has continued using it in other countries).
Mr Pistorius, a double-amputee Olympian known as the ‘blade runner’ due to the equipment he uses in order to run, is alleged to have shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on St Valentine’s Day last year.
The Last Leg‘s host Adam Hills – who was born with no right foot – took extreme exception to the offending advert and took Paddy Power down hard – live on-air during last Friday’s broadcast of the show.
The clip is a masterpiece of its kind. You will feel better for seeing it.
