MPs take home 185 times the average NHS pay demand – in expenses

zcoalitionfailnhspay

It seems odd that nobody made this connection earlier.

NHS workers recently went on strike after Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt refused to implement a one per cent pay increase for 600,000 of them. He said it would cost an “unaffordable” £500 million.

Last month it was revealed that, between them, the UK’s 650 members of Parliament claimed more than £100 million in expenses during 2013-14 – nearly three times the basic MP salary, each.

If you do the maths, this means that, on average, MPs have been awarding themselves no less than 185 times the average pay rise demanded by the NHS workers, each.

Who do you think deserves the cash? Somebody who saves lives every day – or a selfish, grubby, greedy politician?

No point in whining about them when you vote the greedy buggers in is there?

There’s certainly no point in whining about them when you don’t!
If I’ve voted for someone who gets to become an MP, then I have an investment in what they do – and if they don’t do what I want, then they can expect me to vote against them next time. That’s the contract. Greedy b*****ds out!

I didn’t vote them in and take offence at such a suggestion. They didn’t get “voted in” by the public either – this coalition is just that – a coalition between the tories who didn’t have enough votes and the lib/dems who did anything for a bit of power and fame!
If they did the one man one vote system, the tories wouldn’t have come near to winning at all.
I agree with Mike, get the b*****ds out!

Voting is like vaccination to my way of thinking. We have to do it a rate of 95%+ or we don’t really benefit from the exercise.

The surreptitious V sign, in this pic of Hunt, denotes his utter contempt for NHS workers!

Absolutely amazing how they can even think of proceeding with the HS2 railway estimated cost £52 billion + when people are using food banks. Wages stagnant since the tories were un- elected into power. Thatchers funeral estimated cost £10 million, they do not have a clue, could not run a car boot sale.

Lie after lie and selling of the UK’s silver underhandedly destroying the NHS .
