Thanks to Educate Inspire Change for this: It seems Russell Brand’s unique form of discourse – multisyllabic verbiage enunciated with an Estuary accent (you see? We can do it too) – has put him in line for abuse from people who can’t be bothered to argue with him properly.

Journalist Dan Parker, it seems, started the trend for adding the word “Parklife” to the end of every politically-motivated statement Russell makes, either by shouting it or tweeting it, in homage (if that’s the right word) to the 1990s single by Blur, in which actor Phil Daniels – who was playing Kevin Wicks in Eastenders at the time – narrates the lyrics in an accent Mr Parker, it seems, found hilariously similar to Russell’s.

Here’s Russell’s response:

VP reckons this round goes to Russell.

Brand has to be doing something right if pretty much every columnist in the country, be they right or (supposedly) left is lining up to slag him off, obsequious little slags that they are.

If you read MediaLens and Noam Chomsky, their points about the corporate media are being made in spades.
