UKIP has lost its website – to a record company!
UKIP’s official website has disappeared from the Internet, with the UKIP.org web address linking to a domain hosting page.
Speculation is rife that the party, currently third in UK popularity polls, simply forgot to renew its domain name.
Adding insult to injury, the current page features an advert asking: “Are you comfortable in your retirement?”
Some were soon suggesting the domain name had already been re-registered by someone else, meaning UKIP can’t get it back.

UPDATE: From Alcopop Records, c.1.30pm – “Sorry guys – the internet has let us down. This morning we legitimately purchased the UKIP website for £200 (confirmation here). However, Go Daddy seem to have given it back to them (no sign of a refund yet). Genuinely gutted. We’ll be back Farage…”

Perhaps now one can understand and appreciate why Cameron did not answer the hypothetical question of a coalition with them posed by Andrew Marr and out of which the Guardian sought to make capital.

Even if UKIP had forgotten to renew the domain, clearly UKIP own the “brand” for UKIP and the domain would be transferred back under existing procedures that exist for such occasions. Again, sorry to disappoint.
If that’s right, then it’s a shame as it puts an end to a fine piece of fun.
If that’s what passes for fun you need to get out more. If you want some fun, why don’t you challenge the LibLabCon parties about all their child abusers, perverts, fraudsters, racists, homophobes, etc? Much more fun because UKIP kicks out people who behave inappropriately rather than covering it up.

Does UKIP kick out people who behave inappropriately? The only cases I know are those in which people were outed in the media first.
More generally, no political party would allow a child abuser to keep his or her membership – of course they wouldn’t. That’s why the repeated claims against Labour – originating on a BNP website that UKIP members seem to frequent more often than is seemly – are so silly. If you have evidence, bring it forward. If not, quit whining.

Having read the kind of nonsense UKIP supporters bring up, I wouldn’t believe a word of it.
It seems that politics is turning into a constant round of nit-picking, meaning anyone who wants the facts has to go around checking for themselves while the loonies just spew out the contents of their fevered imaginations left, right and further right. How many of these stories are annotated with links to reputable sources?
I think the answer is that they haven’t got enough policies to fill a manifesto, never mind a website. What would they put on it? Perhaps a recurring introduction along the lines of – “Hello, I’m your new website admin. I have removed the offensive article that led to the dismissal of the previous admin, and would like to reassure you that things will be different this time.”
I have this image of Farage on a PPB in 2019. “We said if you vote for us and get us into a coalition with the Tories, we’d get this country up and running, without interference from the EU. Y’know, the referendum? Well… this is the thing. Um… we… forgot to do it. Sorry.”

That website looks about as impartial and reliable as a “male-virility-enhancement pharmaceuticals” (I think that’s the current euphemism) page. Which is strangely fitting, given the issues that so many ‘KIPpers seem to have below the waistline.
Do you honestly think this is a new subject of conversation? It says something about the total lack of humour and humility in your party that you can’t let people have a mild laugh at your expense for two minutes. It also says something about the evasiveness and opportunism of UKIP that they keep trying to point-score over the abuse of children so much.

Is it correct that a Labour councillor in the Midlands has tweeted an alteration to a Conservative poster that is so insensitive I’d be disappointed if you even tried to talk about it much less defend it. Thankfully his branch have suspended him. I’m not sure – even if they tried really, really hard – that the BNP could conceive of something so tasteless. So how about calling a truce – instead of slagging people and parties off, let’s stick to discussion of policies.
