UKIP’s Scottish campaign launch didn’t go exactly to plan – Pride’s Purge

UKIP candidate Emily Santos prays for her life and soul while other members discuss her “words” as if she did not exist.

This blog will quote only one small part of Tom Pride’s report on UKIP’s train-crash Scottish campaign launch, in the hope that you’ll visit his blog to read the rest.

It concerns a TV interview with candidate Emily Santos – who will take on Alex Salmond in the high-profile Gordon constituency:

“When the tongue-tied candidate was completely unable to answer any questions, the panicking UKIP spin doctor accompanying her was heard to give the excellent advice: ‘Words – use your words.’

“‘I don’t know,’ was Santos’ brilliant reply.”

Every day is a disaster with UKIP.

    Surely the kindest thing would be to put these idiots out of their misery by not allowing any of them to stand.

      That would be discrimination – after all, we let the Monster Raving Loony Party stand!
      Admittedly, the MRLs know they’re being ridiculous, but that’s democracy for you.

        Just shows how broken the democracy is when we get to this state of affairs.

    There are some wonderful photos going the rounds up here from the UKIP Scottish launch (sank on first trial). The one at the top of this article probably shows 50% of the total turnout (even the Tories had a couple more folk at their’s). Some groups look like a cross between The Adams Family and Village People. As one commenter on Tom’s blog says, it would have made an excellent episode of Rab C Nesbitt.

    UKIP are hardly the sharpest swords in the armoury, are they?

    Well, Scotland is up for grabs, Labour is dumped, expect a thrashing, and it is mainly frustration with the UK Labour disasters who are being dumped on by Rabid Tories liars;
    For Inst, when Tory liars claim that BR failed (Nationalisation)—it was Nationalised because the Private Company’s who owned the poor cash starved failure, went bust.
    British Rail was a great success, and the Tory Private robbers who run it now are still chucking Taxpayers money at it …so who exactly is failing. ,

      Labour is regaining ground in Scotland.
      While I tend to agree with your opinion of what has happened to our railways, I fail to see what it has to do with UKIP’s campaign launch failure.
