Day of action planned against UKIP hate-mongering

A weekend of action against alleged UKIP hate-mongering is to take place later this month.

In the immediate aftermath of the appalling terrorist attacks in Paris, UKIP leader Nigel Farage took to the airwaves to blame immigration and multiculturalism and claimed that there was a “fifth column” operating in this country, according to Hope Not Hate.

“We’ve got people living in these countries, holding our passports, who hate us,” the organisation quoted him as saying.

He went on to claim that most French cities had “no-go” areas for non-Muslims.

“Sadly, he is at it again,” wrote Nick Lowles for Hope Not Hate. “Last week, in a speech to a hard-right conference in the US, he repeated his claims.

“Farage’s incendiary language is dangerous and will only whip up fear, suspicion and hatred. He is clearly moving to the right, so we need to redouble our efforts to stop him and his party.

“Hope not hate is calling a national weekend of action for 21/22 March.

“With just 65 days to go until the General Election, we need to step up our campaign. UKIP boast that it will win several seats and, more worryingly, could hold the balance of power in a hung parliament. UKIP also poses a real threat in 410 council wards.

“If you are appalled by Farage whipping up hatred and are worried about UKIP holding the balance of power, then please sign up to get involved.”

Pathetic – the more publicity that Ukip get the more likely idiots are going to remember to vote for this mob.

I met Nick Lowles at an HNH meeting in Manchester nine days ago. Really nice fella, and really got his finger on the pulse when it comes to monitoring the Far Right.

If Farage moves any further to the right, will he “loop the loop” politically and end up becoming a Stalinist?

“Alleged”, “Claimed”, “Quoted him as saying”, “According to”. Nothing definitive then, but slogans that will rally the troops into ‘another weekend of frenzied action’ – which one interprets as being exactly what you claim UKIP are responsible for. So broken windows, paint daubing, incoherent chanting and ranting – and maybe time to formulate some worthwhile policies? Another triumph for intelligent politicking looks on the cards.

Guy, half the news websites in the UK have independently quoted Farage saying those scaremongering thing. It’s not just HnH who quote him saying it.

Not enough for you to count as definitive? Okay here, actual video of him saying it; –

You really need to work on your persecution complex. UKIP is called a xenophobic organisation *because* UKIP acts and speaks xenophobically, not because all the other parties are afraid of being beaten by them; their current projections for the Election suggest they will win fewer than ten seats, which means other parties focusing on beating them purely out of spite would be a foolish waste of precious resources. They must have another reason, and m UKIP is anti-Islamic, anti-European, homophobic and anti-working class. A disproportionally large strata of the party’s membership regularly express alarming, extremist, and sometimes just plain crackpot opinions. Those do not become ‘made up by other parties’ just because they are crackpot. Why else would so many EDL and BNP exiles side with UKIP?

You have to get into the real world here, Guy, UKIP has become an unpleasant organisation.
