Thousands have died after being found fit for work, DWP figures show | Society | The Guardian

Last Updated: August 27, 2015By

More than 80 people a month are dying shortly after being declared “fit for work” according to new data, prompting campaigners to call for an overhaul of the government’s controversial welfare regime.

Statistics released by the Department for Work and Pensions on Thursday show that 2,380 people died between December 2011 and February 2014 shortly after a work capability assessment (WCA) found they were able to work.

The administration of the WCA by officials has been widely criticised as crude and inaccurate by campaigners. There have been hundreds of thousands of appeals of fit-for-work decisions over the last few years, about four in 10 of which have succeeded.

IDS will kill all sick and disabled by stress and must be stopped by whatever means the lack of sleep that the vast majority of sick and disabled have to suffer with is bad enough but for IDS to make their condition’s worse like myself so i get no sleep at all is horrific

I tell you now if a ambassador of another country read this to offer me asylum i’d take it even in Tunisia or Egypt or even Syria i would take my chances there anywhere even Burma as that’s how i feel and for many years now

That’s an interesting observation Nick, perhaps one which would no doubt delight IDS!

indeed Brian i have had the most enjoyable time of my life in these countries over many years and even still today i know of many who live their for the full winter 6 months and have in some cases done so for 20 years after retirement

of course Syria today is out of bounds but the love and warmth of Tunisia and Egyptian people still hold high despite the extreme difficulty with terrorism

You have to remember theirs is a culture of family the west is mainly money a very big difference when your on a small income like these countries are

Hmm these figures come out on the same day as the latest immigration figures and the new parasites are nominated to the second chamber. Coincidence or conspiracy?

It certainly is a busy news day with lots to distract the casual viewer/reader.

Just to be clear the parasites I refer to are the ermine clad variety with their funny little ways and their mostly privileged backgrounds. Still how else can one maintain one’s moat?

Mike: thanks and congratulations for all you have done to get this lousy, deceitful and divisive regime exposed for the callous killers that they are. It will take a lot more to break the dam, but this must at least have started a small crack. It seems that DWP have actually published meaningful figures rather just totally “massaged” ones, but seeing as how obstructive and reticent the Government has been, I can only assume that we have NOT YET been told the whole story.

I have signed the petition for Iain Duncan Scmidt (aka Herr Arbeit Macht Frei) to resign and will do all I can to shame this vile psychopath, however, we must also put the focus on CaMoron, as he is the one who gave him the job, and kept him in it despite all evidence of huge cost, deaths, suicides and suffering. CaMoron is guilty too, just because he does not work out the reforms does not mean he is absolved of blame, and he knew full well of the extremely high cost of the reforms.
