Government takes Motability vehicles from 200 people each week

Up to two hundred disabled people a week are losing their right to a Motability vehicle, due to draconian welfare changes.

Estimates suggest that between 150 to 200 disabled people lose their right to a Motability vehicle each week, after being transferred from Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to the new Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

PIP is replacing DLA for all disabled people over the age of sixteen.

A toughening of the testing regime under PIP means that some severely disabled people, who would have qualified for a Motability car when claiming DLA, are no longer eligible.

I have a theory with regard to this subject. I am sad to say a member of my own family has moaned, and I think many others will have moaned/complained about seeing people on Mobility scooters and how they are a ”nuisance”. When I had one, I was laughed at and ridiculed by pupils of a Private school, along with a gentleman who was on his infront of me who was clearly a stroke victim.

Many of the companies which make, sell, service and repair MVs (and their parts, . spares and accessories) will close down, leading to more unemployment. Not really a great star towards Gidiot’s dream of making UK a great economy like US and China!

No real big surprise, they’re taking everyone’s money off them, why not the scooters!
