‘B*llocks’: Pro-war Labour MP responds to email from concerned constituent with utter contempt | The Canary

Last Updated: December 3, 2015By

The Canary is currently investigating claims that Labour MP Graham Jones, who voted in favour of airstrikes against Syria, has engaged in an expletive-laden exchange with a constituent who criticised his support for the war.

Apparently, Mr Jones believes he is the one who is under attack, rather than the constituent who appears to have been sworn at simply for sending along respectful criticism to his elected representative.

Once we are in a position to verify the claims absolutely, we will. If that happens, it is another hammer blow for the discredited Blairite wing of the Labour party. By voting to bomb Syria – against the will of their party membership, and over half the electorate – they displayed a remarkable level of contempt. But to issue such a disgraceful response to this civil enquiry suggests the contempt runs even deeper than we thought.

That is the most appalling and moronic reply I’ve ever seen from a MP. At least my MP has the courtesy to send cut-and-paste responses!

What is Graham Jones doing in the Labour Party?

Given the fact that part of the email is included in the photograph, and the word “b*ll*cks” has been used, that’s bad enough, never mind any worse expletives!

Lucky to get a reply so quickly…..pretty clear response as to where his loyalty lay if indeed this was not a hacked reply.

Tempted to say I told you so but the truth is that many in the Labour Party think it is their own little club and we the membership are mere peasants to be dismissed, ignored and insulted, except when they want our vote. It is more prominent among the Blairites and right wing Tory Lites, this “elitism” but not confined to them. If he has been unreasonably rude without provocation he should be investigated to see whether he belongs in the Labour Party. Other’s, who are Corbyn supporters, have had their wings clipped for far less.

This is no surprise to me what so ever, I used to have a friend working in the cabinet office when Gordon Brown was Prime Minister and he told me then that what an mp will announce in public and what they will say in private are two rather different things, most of what we see in the media ; tv, radio and even printed statements are a PR exercise designed to subdue and reassure a concerned public, with fewer and fewer mp’s really speaking their minds, its much easier to have a so called debate when they all agree with one another, but that does not mean they are right.
