Last Updated: December 3, 2015By

A Labour MP called in the police tonight after receiving an apparent death threat on Twitter

Neil Coyle, MP for Bermondsey & Old Southwark, was hounded with a stream of abuse on the social network after voting in favour of air strikes in the Commons.

The threatening tweet read: “u voted for air strikes, If I see u round ends…”.

The message ends with a string of ’emoji’ pictures of knives.

Mr Coyle reported the sender to the police, prompting him to delete the message.

Everyone should be free from harissment in coming to a decision. We rightly complained of the manner of treatment, toward those against the bombing.

To insinuate violence against some who dose not share ones views is not the road to go in a civil democratic society every one has the right to civilised discussion and freedom to vote in what they believe , anyone with another view are just as dangerous as the terrorist that we are debating about.

As if the police haven’t got better things to do, especially with all the cut-backs, than to take every pissy little Twitterer seriously. If this MP has a Twitter account he should be able to suck this sort of thing up. If he can’t, he should move to something less voluble like Linkedin.
