This will make your blood boil.

The fact that incompetents are still being allowed to make decisions that are harmful both to health and the quality of life endured by people claiming benefits to which they are entitled is a national scandal.

… One that has been hushed up far too often.

I found this heartbreaking story on the ATOS Miracles Facebook page. I usually share the links to Facebook statuses directly from Facebook, but this story is so heartbreaking that I don’t want to take the chance of anyone not being able to read it. Please share as widely as possible.

This mother talked to the Decision Maker last week and told him, “my daughter is dying from organ failure”. He said ‘that’s your opinion’. Her daughter had just been turned down for PIP for the third time. She has had a lifetime of health problems which have spread to many other illnesses. Aged 28 she now has end stage organ failure and will die without transplants. Whether a donor comes or not she is living the quality of life of someone at the end of their life. No PIP.

To anyone terminally ill your claim should get fast-tracked with a DS1500 form which your doctor fills in, not you.

Just a few posts up from this on my facebook is a press report of a rough sleeper in Dublin.. A WHEELCHAIR user. What the hell is happening in these islands? No, actually I’ll rephrase that.. What the hell is the public doing other than just standing by, eyes , ears and hearts closed to the very real suffering all around them.

The public believed the Daily Mail and other papers, that folk on dole ,folk with terminal illness etc are just wanton scroungers ,yet when MPs fiddle thousands from expenses, get away with it,someone desperate diddles an extra tenner from dole, gets six months in jail, greedy bankers, money grabbers in suits who sit and guffaw at the poor, the ill and the poor did not crash the banks ,they did that themselves ,we should jail the bankers like iceland did ,

Awful and sadly not surprised. I have been bedridden for three years but have only been awarded standard rate care, mandatory reconsideration not successful, now for appeal. I am not like this poor woman as have got standard rate but for someone bedridden and unable to cook, do personal care I should meet criteria for enhanced rate. Know so many of us are getting unjust decisions
