A reminder: PIP cuts have been cancelled but ESA cuts are going ahead

Can I make it any clearer?

This Writer has been seeing a large number of comments from readers (both here and elsewhere) who seem to have latched onto a belief that the planned cut to Employment and Support Allowance for people in the Work-Related Activity Group has been cancelled, just because the changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) entitlement have. This is not true.

Please share this post and the image because it seems some people are confused.

I would say the PIP changes have been postponed rather than cancelled.

agree with you Barry…..Keep a sharp lookout on changes to the regulations governing PIP by means of of “Orders in Council” Since Thatchers and Tony’s days all the regulations can be changed by this method….as the legislation is written as “enabling” which enable Ministers to do so without consulting Parliament…one change at time is what they will do…..(IDS used this method at lot when defeated by the Courts)

Nothing and nobody, particularly the disabled, the sick and the poor, must get in the way of the Nasty Party’s generous tax cuts for the extremely wealthy minority in Britain.

Here is a useful link to remind people of the Tory cuts:

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/mar/23/pip-u-turn-billions-of-pounds-welfare-cuts

And here is useful list of Tory cuts at a glance:

    BEDROOM TAX

    TAX CREDIT CUTS

    FOOD BANKS

UNIVERSAL CREDIT FALLING AT THE FIRST HURDLE – AND SEVERAL MORE SINCE

    RISE IN HOMELESSNESS/ROUGH SLEEPING

    SOARING CHILD POVERTY

ZERO HOURS CONTACTS (RENAMED FLEXIBLE HOURS CONTACTS BY IDS)

8.5 MILLION WASTED ON CUDDLY MASCOT GIMMICK

    BENEFIT SANCTIONS

    UN INVESTIGATION

    FAKE QUOTES FROM BENEFIT CLAIMANTS

PEOPLE SAYING THANK YOU FOR BENEFIT SANCTIONS

    JOB ADVISORS IN FOOD BANKS

    ESA CUTS

BULLYING TORY MP NADINE DORRIES NOT TO VOTE AGAINST ESA CUTS (before he resigned over them, apparently)!

Nadine Dorries is a she – or did you mean before Iain Duncan Smith resigned over them?

      • Helping Hand April 2, 2016 at 4:21 pm - Reply

Thanks Mike. Nadine Dorries is indeed a “she”.

The “he” I referred to is actually Iain Duncan Smith. I should have preceded the list of Tory cuts (and other things) with the words “here is a list things IDS did not resign over”!

          Okay – it needed clarifying.

Your facebook meta tag for the image seems to be broken. None of your posts are getting the post image.

That would be interference from FB rather than anything to do with me.
Odd that Facebook would behave like that…

Of course they’re still going ahead with ESA cuts and PIP will be cut too, just not right now.
