Doorstepped: The scene wasn’t quite like this but you can understand why nobody would want to step out of their house into it.

Right-wing radio station LBC tried to do a ‘doorstep’ interview with Jeremy Corbyn outside his home over David Cameron’s tax affairs.

When Mr Corbyn pushed the microphone away, saying he doesn’t do interviews on the doorstep “under any circumstances”, his action provoked criticism.

But it seems LBC has now apologised.

Here’s the Huffington Post on the incident itself:

Corbyn’s day got off to a rather bumpy start when he was doorstepped at his north London home by LBC’s Charlotte Wright.

She asked the Islington North MP what he thought of the PM’s admission but, clearly not in the mood to talk, Corbyn said: “Good morning everybody. Thank you for coming here. I don’t do interviews of any circumstances.”

As Wright tried to ask him a follow up, an irritated Corbyn placed his hand over her microphone and told her to “put it away please”.

And here’s UK Business Insider on the aftermath:

A spokesperson for the Labour leader says the station has now apologised for its interviewing tactic.

“LBC made an aggressive attempt to interview Jeremy outside of his house and have since apologised,” a Labour spokesperson [said].

LBC have not apologised for anything so it sounds like Seumas is lying again.

Where’s the LBC statement to that effect?

I would be amazed if LBC apologised as there was nothing wrong in asking for a comment when Corbyn was on the pavement. LBC have not said that they have apologised. The source has only been a ‘Labour insider’. Looks like porkies.

Why would the Labour Party tell lies? Political organisations’ public announcements are closely scrutinised for factual accuracy (by their opponents, at the very least) so there would be nothing to gain from it.

That reply must surely be meant to be humourous.

          No.

LBC – isn’t this the bunch funded by an offshore tax haven? Perhaps they are feeling a bit raw after being ‘outed’!

LBC is a worthless, right wing propaganda machine that should be made to apologise, I don’t give this Hitler loving station the time of day!
