Election Commission meets police over Tory election fraud evidence

Public feeling over whether the Conservatives bought the 2015 general election is running high.

Public feeling over whether the Conservatives bought the 2015 general election is running high.

There is only one question at the moment: With the honourable exception of Channel 4, why is this being ignored by all the mainstream news outlets?

Is it really because the right-wing owners of these newspapers, TV channels and radio stations – and the outright Tory editors of BBC News – are determined to hide the facts from the electorate in advance of major elections across the UK tomorrow (May 5)?

This Blog had to go to the Common Space blog site to find a timely article, which tends to support Jeremy Corbyn’s assertion that political debate has moved to the social media.

Fortunately, there’s this Channel 4 News report to remind us of the issues:

Undoubtedly there will be more after the summit meeting adjourns.

Evidence of undeclared Tory election expenses [were being] considered by English police today [Wednesday 4 May] during meetings with the Electoral Commission.

Channel 4 News linked undeclared expenses – totaling tens of thousands of pounds in accommodation and travel – to 26 Tory MPs during last May’s General Election and previous by-elections.

In several cases declaring the expense would have brought the candidates above the legal spending limit – meaning the case constitutes potential fraud of the election process.

Following the original revelations several Tory activists called for a full investigations and raised concerns over the legality of party election spending.

Clacton Conservative Party Association chair Delyth Miles said party members would be “absolutely totally and utterly disgusted” over undeclared spending evidence.

Tory campaign manager Katie Woodland added: “I would say, based on the evidence I’ve seen, the fact that it happened in three by-elections, one after the other, it’s systematic. And they know the law. They’ve been running elections for years.”

The Electoral Commission requested a legal extension over the evidence so that a full investigation could take place before any decision on police action.

Personally, the way I see this is that public feeling is running so high, that I don’t think the police/cps have much choice but to get an extension on this and get a full investigation under way. Anything else, would surely just be inviting trouble? But we’ll see!

But just look at how the powers that be can defer the actions that are needed. perhaps they should get Chilcott to undertake the inquiry and ensure that nothing comes out until after the next election or the one after that.

Ill be honest, nothing will happen even though it is criminal. The Conazitives are in charge of the media, police, law and court organisations. Just like the Conservative party of 1930s Germany. CaMoron got away with fraud and abusing pigs, IDS and a dose of Crabbs are still getting away with murder. The Conazitives are the most corrupt evil cowardly scum in Britain. All tory voters, activists and MPs are traitors to the real people of Britain. If the police do not charge any of these criminal lowlifes and hold new elections for these seats that even a fool will recognize that we are living under a undemocratic criminal dictatorship. All you b*****ds get aboard the b******d bus, next stop parasite utopia.

I stood against Michelle Donelan in the GE last year, she’s seen on the video at 1.32 greeting the PM. I have spent the last two months attempting to, not only find out who to contact in my local police force, but then trying to get them to start proceedings against her. I have found many many incriminating tweets and photographs, enough to prove the allegations. Still awaiting news on whether my local officer actually went to the Electoral Commission meeting today. Democracy not working so far here in the west country!

There’s a tory election fraud probe ongoing? Next you’ll be telling me the torys have been being Islamophobic, or demonizing the disabled. Think I’ll go back to watching the Beeb and Murdoch’s other news channel Sky News while reading the Sun so I can find out how bad Labour are. [sorry still no sarcasm or Irony font].

Nothing surprises me anymore about the Tories, I feel desensitized to their skulduggery. Anyone would assume these people are above the law the way they flout it. It is in the public interest’s to bring these criminals to book. This is much worse than simple fraud, misleading the public by misrepresentation in this conspiracy reminds me of North Korean tactics. How much longer will it be before the authorities do what they are supposed to do, or become a part of it themselves.
