This woman made a very important point when she said the Conservative Government could not be trusted with more power.

She may have got her millions and billions mixed up, but her appraisal of David Cameron’s (and his cronies’) trustworthiness was right on the money.

A BBC Question Time audience member received a rapturous response on Thursday evening when she explained why she isn’t backing Brexit.

She said: “The largest comment against remaining in the EU seems to be all this red tape, this democracy that isn’t happening.

“I’m not sure I want to hand back more power to a government that’s made £12 million (sic) of cuts to welfare, that’s seen child poverty rise.

I just don’t want to see that. It doesn’t seem that if they get all that power they’ll be doing things for the people.

“They need someone to answer to.”

Her comments were met with applause and even a whoop from the rest of the audience.

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas exclaimed: “You are absolutely right!”

Host, David Dimbleby, then asked: “Are you saying you feel safer in the EU?”

She replied: “Like the non-discrimination and gender laws that were spoken about, how do we know our government is going to protect those?”

Of course they did! The audience is carefully selected.

Usually the selection is to ensure right-wing majority, though.

The lady’s comments and Wren-Lewis’s assessment of the economic position are the main points for me to vote stay in.

Dimbelbey’s comment hardly addressed the issue did it. No doubt he will be getting a phone call from No 10 reminding him to get a grip of who is allowed into the audience to stop this stuff being repeated.

I watched last Thursday’s edition, lot of right wing boneheads in Ipswich, when Caroline Lucas said the tories will water down our human and workers rights, benefits and other important parts of our system, some of the idiots clapped, tory trolls were in force that night!
