Hunt says cutting 450 hospital jobs won’t hit patient safety. What do WE say?

I say Jeremy Hunt is talking rubbish, as usual.

Some of the safest hospitals in the world have a relatively low number of staff, do they? And what illnesses do they treat?

Reducing bureaucracy is important so nurses have more time with patients, is it? How many bureaucrats will lose their jobs, and how many nurses?

And if hospitals have employed too many temporary workers, why is this one axing more permanent jobs?

He’s still on his privatisation gimmick. Defund – watch it fall apart – wait for the complaints – hand it over to private owners who won’t care about the service as long as the money keeps rolling in.

Patients have nothing to fear after a West Midland hospital trust announced it was axing 450 jobs, Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has insisted.

He was speaking to the Birmingham Mail after Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital NHS Trust, which runs City Hospital in Winson Green and Sandwell Hospital in West Bromwich, said it was making cuts to save money.

Mr Hunt said reducing bureaucracy so nurses spent time with patients was as important as staff numbers.

He said some of the safest hospitals in the world actually had a relatively low number of staff.

And he said some hospitals had gone overboard on increasing staff numbers – which meant they had to employ expensive temporary staff – so it was right for them to cut back.

The Trust announced last week that a staff consultation will start in July on plans to shed 250 full-time roles and another 200 temporary posts.

I can only repeat my comment of a few minutes ago:- You only have to look at them to see that self-preservation and profit is their main motive in life. We need a proper government to manage such people fairly and decently.

This completely delusional Hunt is in need of immediate mental care help which had he not cut the mental health budget would be forthcoming to help him in his total madness. This idiot Hunt is a dangerous loose cannon … a wrecker….who will not rest until he has privatised the entire NHS…..with the obvious blessing of that Camoron.

It might be an idea if someone pressed him to give some examples of what types of ‘bureaucracy’ can be cut, you know, to put some actual meat on the bones.
And whilst he’s at it perhaps he’d like to name some of the hospitals of which he speaks that run with fewer staff so that we can check them out for ourselves.

Just more gibberish from a man with a love of false comparisons and statistics. He is the sort of person who believes that you can seriously can compare apples to oranges.

“And he said some hospitals had gone overboard on increasing staff numbers – which meant they had to employ expensive temporary staff – so it was right for them to cut back.”

More like they were held back from employing enough permanent staff, so then had to turn to locums which cost them more money. This was confirmed by Jim Mackey from NHS Improvement when he was called to talk about NHS Provider finances in front of the Health Select committee.

With idiots like this in charge of our health service, we are unfortunately doomed.

Would that be even at weekends, Jeremy?
