McDonnell has claimed Osborne’s decision to drop surplus target as a Labour victory

Last Updated: July 2, 2016By
John McDonnell: Victory.

John McDonnell: Victory.

Here’s something many commentators probably hope you’ll have missed: When George Osborne dropped his plan to put the budget in surplus by 2020 yesterday (Friday), he was doing so only two days after Jeremy Corbyn challenged David Cameron to do exactly that.

Labour’s shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, has claimed the U-turn as a Labour victory – and good for him.

It seems that, without the backstabbers and plotters in the so-called ‘Chicken Coup’ to slow them down, Labour’s top team is actually achieving results for the people.

So it begins! The Tories know that they’re a shipwreck, only floating due to their fixed term parliament!
We can now expect them to do exactly what they always do when they sense defeat….asset-strip the nation to line their and their friends’ pockets, run everything down further and then blame Labour for everything!
Sadly, it took a shadow cabinet revolt to show us all who should go and it isn’t Jeremy Corbyn. Now the Blairites have shown themselves to be undercover Tories we get some actual attack from the opposition…..long overdue!

Watching McDonnell vs Osborne in terms of experience and presentation is like watching Roger Federer defeating an unworthy opponent not with malice but with the deftness and ability of a champion. Tell that to Laura whassaname to report.
