Labour has internal elections coming up, and the ‘Left slate’ is how we’ll get progressive change into that party.

Presumably, the Conservatives have similar representative systems in place. Perhaps I should be publicising theirs, and calling for Tories to support the candidates that are least… you know… Nazi-esque?

It is vitally important to the left in the party that the following candidates are elected. You can help by securing nominations for them from your CLP, and in the case of the NCC, ensuring your conference delegates vote for them.

1. Conference Arrangements Committee (CAC)

The Conference Arrangements Committee (CAC) has a crucial role in influencing the running of conference, and therefore requires candidates who will represent the wishes of members.

Billy Hayes (Mitcham and Morden CLP, Communications Workers’ Union, Labour Membership Number A065571)

Seema Chandwani (Tottenham CLP, L1187007)

The election for these reps will be by a One Member One Vote ballot this summer.

2. National Constitutional Committee (NCC)

The NCC handles disciplinary procedures within the Labour Party.

Anna Dyer (Glasgow Maryhill and Springburn CLP, L0081865)

Emine Ibrahim (Hornsey and Wood Green CLP, L0150489)

The election of these reps will be by CLP delegates at the Annual Conference in September.
