CAPTION COMPETITION: Kippers and eggs – what a combination

Last Updated: February 6, 2017By

Some of you may have seen the image (above) in the social media already.

It features Nigel Farage (protected from impr-egg-nation under his protective sheath-style UKIP umbrella) with his successor as the leader of UKIP, Paul Nuttall, on a stroll around Stoke-on-Trent Central, where Mr Nuttall hopes to win the Parliamentary seat on February 23.

The people of the town reacted joyfully, sending little packages of nutritious goodness (eggs to you and me) to help the Kipper gentlemen on their way.

But it seems Mr Nuttall was not amused, and apparently tweeted the following comment before swallowing his pride and cutting it out of his feed:

(They’re eggs, Paul – not scum. And Stoke Central wasn’t full of them, except where you and Nigel were walking.)

As photo captions go, we at Vox Political Towers thought Mr Nuttall’s was… lacking. We expected something a little more hard-boiled from such a seasoned party chef chief.

Perhaps his mind was scrambled by the cracking reception he had received, but…

We think YOU could do better!

So here’s the challenge: Come up with an amusing caption for the picture at the top of this article, and send it to us via the handy Feedback form below. No poaching other people’s ideas from the social – or mass – media (unless they’re really good)!

If you come up with something outstanding, we might even find a prize…
