Urine-gate? UKIP leafletter’s transgression means the party’s Stoke Central campaign has literally gone down the toilet

Last Updated: February 20, 2017By

The UKIP leafletter who relieved himself against a fence – and Marjory Pinches, the owner of the fence.

At first, I was reluctant to assign any credibility to this story. It seemed, simply, too far beyond the pale.

It seemed to me that it might be another “false flag” attack, perpetrated against UKIP – in much the same way I believed Labour had been attacked over the text to Muslim constituents, calling on them not to vote for a Muslim candidate but to support Labour instead, last week.

But now UKIP has apologised, so there seems no doubt that the man wearing a UKIP rosette and delivering UKIP leaflets was, indeed, a member of UKIP.

It seems he chose to relieve himself against the wrong fence, as Marjory Pinches had two CCTV cameras watching her home.

Footage from one camera shows the man relieving himself against a fence at the side of Marjorie Pinches’ house. A second camera captured the moment Mrs Pinches, 73, confronted him. He tried to push his way into her home, demanding to use the toilet, but she told him to leave and this is what he eventually did.

In fairness, we are told he made repeated apologies for his actions.

For UKIP, the Stoke-on-Trent Central campaign could not get any worse. It has quite literally gone down the toilet.

The incident follows the revelations that Paul Nuttall – UKIP’s leader and candidate in the by-election to be held on Thursday – allowed lies to appear on his website, claiming that he had been invited onto a charity’s board of trustees, and that he had been at the Hillsborough tragedy and close friends had lost their lives there.

Nuttall’s credibility has been shot to ribbons.

His party’s campaigning methods are the subject of ridicule.

He may as well pack up and go back to Bootle. Except it seems nobody there wants him either.

Nothing that UKIP do surprises me. Hope the people of Stoke are far too sensible to vote for these odious people.
