How many times must we read this twaddle about MPs breaking away from Corbyn’s Labour?

Last Updated: May 10, 2017By

All smiles: Jeremy Corbyn enjoys the applause at Labour’s campaign launch on May 9.

Remember when Jeremy Corbyn was about to win his second leadership election? There was talk of right-wing (they’re no moderates!) MPs breaking away then, as well.

And did they? I should bleedin’ cocoa.

This is just a stupid smoke-and-mirrors bid to sap support for Jeremy Corbyn after Labour’s storming campaign launch and yet more blunders from ‘Team Terrible’ – I mean, Team Theresa.

I notice the name of the Torygraph reporter is ironically appropriate – C Hope? There’s no hope for Tories to see here.

Labour faces a historic split after the election with as many as 100 of the party’s MPs set to walk out and form their own breakaway group in an attempt to force out Jeremy Corbyn, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

Moderate Labour candidates are already in talks with potential donors about a new “Progressives” group forming in Parliament if Mr Corbyn stays on as leader after a Tory landslide.

One potential scenario is for the MPs to resign the Labour whip and become independents grouped together in the Commons under the Progressives banner.

What good is “Progress” if we progress away from humanity?

Tories always play dirty. Where I live we have a LD MP, and a longstanding LD borough council. We have a local facebook election debate page and it has been very revealing to read! After an initial onslaught from local Tory councillors and activists desperate to malign any opposition to them and to hoover up possible votes, there has been a spirited response from the other parties and people of no party, often appealing for debate and respect, rather than attack and discourtesy.
Now the Tories are playing victimhood. Very interesting.

Well let’s honest if they “moderate’s” broke away what are they going to do, renew the social democrats?, start another party? join the lib dems, whatever they would be assured of losing their cushy jobs.

I cannot understand why someone who has been elected to take a party seat in Parliament, should be allowed to carry on ‘representing’ those who voted for them when they decide to ‘cross the floor’ and support another party.

Of course, as we have seen, some do not actually and openly ‘cross the floor, but show their disrespect for those who put them in their seat, by either voting for the ruling party or abstaining from voting with the party to who they are supposed to be beholden to.
