Patients in Weston-Super-Mare are told they voted for it as A&E closes at night

Just one week after the general election, voters in Weston-Super-Mare have been told the government they supported will close their hospital’s Accident and Emergency department at night – because of a shortage of doctors.

Weston Area Health NHS Trust will close the department between 10pm and 8am from July 4, after a report from the Care Quality Commission deemed the quality of its service to be inadequate, mentioning the scarcity of doctors, long waiting times and the fact that people were being treated in corridors due to a lack of cubicles.

These are all problems that have been caused by the Conservative government, but that didn’t stop voters from re-electing Tory John Penrose as their MP last week.

Here is the best thing that can be said about the situation:

I assume that Weston Super Mare has a high number of retired OAPs who, almost always against their own best interests, vote for the Tory candidate (even the proverbial untrained chimp wearing a blue rosette), have always voted Tory. These are the sort of people who may well need the NHS more than younger people so perhaps now the message will finally sink in.

PS: Personally, I think it would be cruel to make a chimp wear a blue rosette, but of course it may well be of a higher intelligence calibre than the local nasty Tory.

Sounds like for that Hunt it is still business as usual but with a much faster pace now in case the Tories find themselves out on their dirty backsides and all their dismantling plans are in ruins. Please God.

Shocking , they do not have a mandate from the electorate to close hospitals at any time.
They are just trying privatise the NHS is is obvious to any right thinking person, disgraceful

Tory Voters clearly believe the propaganda they see and hear in the media.

Ignorance is bliss, until the chickens come home to roost.
