NHS waiting lists have grown enormously under the Tories

The number of patients waiting for planned surgery in an NHS hospital in England has topped 4 million for the first time in a decade, official performance statistics show.
The breaching of the 4 million barrier for the first time since the waiting time target was introduced in August 2007 will raise fresh questions about the government’s stewardship of the health service. Critics will seize on it as evidence that Theresa May is giving the NHS too little money to help it cope with an unprecedented rise in demand for healthcare.
NHS England said on Thursday that 3.83 million people were on the waiting list for non-urgent hospital care in July, a slight increase on 3.81 million in June. However, it admitted that once estimates were factored in for how many patients were waiting at six hospital trusts that did not submit data for the referral to treatment (RTT) scheme, the total had gone over 4 million.

From around 2.25 million in 2010. So it has nearly doubled.

No worries.
So far as I can see we dont need yet another re organisation, we need a responsible government that values what we already had and was not intent on privatising it to wnrich their USA buddies.
A good friend of mine is in this situation with 2 members of her family. Her grandson needs a particular skin test that, if he waits for the NHS, won’t be done for at least 18 months – in which time his skin problem will get ever more painful for him – and so his father has decided to go private, as the same specialist will see him in 2 weeks by doing so.
My friend’s husband is suffering terribly with COPD, and needs an op to help clear his lungs – he has been told by the specialist that, without this op, he will probably only live another year or so. He should have been having a scan this month, ready for the op next month but, because of a huge backlog in patients – caused by a lack of staff in our NHS hospital – he now has to wait until next february for the scan, and a lot longer for the op.
My friend and her family don’t have the thousands of pounds it would take to go private for his treatment, and every week that goes by, his COPD gets ever worse.
The NHS, and all of it’s patients, are being held hostage by our own government, just to force people to go private in their desperation for treatment and, if something isn’t done, and very soon, to change this situation, there will be even more unnecessary deaths happening, all over the UK :(
But the tories don’t give a damn – all that interests them, is profit! :(
