The surprising demise of Sarah Champion

What the blazes just happened to Sarah Champion?

Only a few months ago, in the run-up to the general election, Ms Champion was a star of the Labour Party – partly because of her expert demolition of top Sky News Tory Adam Boulton in this interview:

Now she has been obliged to resign as Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities after penning an article in The Sun accusing British men of Pakistani origin of raping white girls.

In The Sun!

Labour MPs should be banned from writing in that rag altogether – if not because of its all-out support for the Conservative Party, then because of the lies it published about the Hillsborough tragedy and other politically-motivated cover-ups by the Tories.

And let’s not forget that Gloria de Piero used The Sun to try to flood the Labour Party with right-wing entryists in a bid to unseat Jeremy Corbyn from his position as party leader.

The Sun is no friend of the Labour Party and Ms Champion should have known better than to write anything for its editors. So who put her up to it? Her aides?

The same aides who signed off the piece, apparently without her knowledge, despite it having been changed by the Murdoch paper’s editors, according to Ms Champion herself?

Who are these people and what disciplinary action will they face?

We should also consider the fact that this is the second time Ms Champion has resigned from a Jeremy Corbyn shadow cabinet.

Last year, having followed the leaders of the so-called ‘chicken coup’ onto the backbenches, Ms Champion famously “unresigned” after reconsidering her position.

If she tries that again, she’ll earn herself a nickname: Yo-yo.

That would be the death of her political career.

And that would be a shame.

Twitter has been sympathetic, for a change:

Not sure using the claim the tories politically motivated cover up is right 15 april 1989 Hillsborugh disaster 17 april 1989 Douglas Hurd announces plans for all football stadiums to be made all seater 19 April 1989 Sun publishes what it dubbed the truth based on information from the South Yorkshire police as did the star and the Mirror 29 april 1989 14 Liverpool fans sentenced for manslaughter in Brussels for the Heysel stadium disaster. With other major events such as strikes occurring covering up something that had not been investigated is not a viable claim.

It is well-established that the Thatcher government hid the facts of Hillsborough.
Give it a rest, Barry. Your insistence on questioning everything I’m writing is boring.

Maybe I’v’e missed something here, no doubt some will jump down my throat to tell me I have, but is SC not correct in her comments, albeit not her definition. We’re all entitled to a view, and prejudice has many sides, I use that term in preference to ‘racist’. Is this not an example of all that is wrong with today’s society, where varied ‘sects’ vie for dominance, by calling the politically correct card as a means to pursue their own ‘right or wrong’ views. I see parallels with Trumps comments, and the backlash he has received, is he too not ‘crudely’ correct; With people condemning his words, to pursue their own agenda, are they not just as intolerant as those they choose to attack. It seems to me it’s relative to which side of the fence you are on, it’s also dishonest, but in the human psych to do. So is it not time to recognize & agree we have differences, rather than mirroring condemnation, and accepting there is no right or wrong view, but rather deep seated prejudice of opposing views.

The biggest mistake, as laid out by Mike, was trusting that globalist rag with a story that could be easily manipulated to create their usual fake news. In allowing them to change her story the Con rag has taken out one of the more promising verbally confident MPs who for once I agreed with and represented a much needed middle voice of reason. The fake news obviously could see some danger from her being a future strong Labour player and set her up for fake news and taking her out asap.. She should have not resigned so hastily but stood her ground, with the backing of Labour leadership/support and clarified her news piece so that the Sun could be exposed by their false political Con agenda. Not that any of the globalist media would help expose the real truth of her piece. Big defence opportunity missed in haste by appeasing the PC brigade for a falsified statement that was made up. The real facts of these cases are undeniable and what we have seen is pathetically short terms for their sentences. This particular disgraceful disease has had very little national media attention except until the very end when the Court sentences were announced.. I hope she does yo yo back…… sooner rather than later and puts the record straight.

Does Sarah Champion have a point & her words clumsy, or are they an expression of racist intent?
