NHS blows £21 million on consultants telling them how to cut costs

If they want to save money, why not dispense with the consultants and think for themselves? Who are the experts, after all?

Health and social care bosses across England have spent £21m on management consultants to help draw up plans to overhaul regional NHS services.

A Pulse investigation, based on Freedom of Information request to all 44 ‘Sustainability and Transformation Partnership’ (STP) regions, found that some areas have spent millions of pounds on external consultants to help them draw up the plans, which in many cases involve cutting frontline services.

Local GP leaders said these sums were ‘difficult to justify’ when money was being removed from frontline services.

The plans were first announced in December 2015, with the aim of making £22bn worth of cuts to the health services by 2020/21.

They need external constants to “identify” where the axe is to fall, because no one actually delivering services is going to volunteer to have what they do axed, because all services are essential. Actually the choice will not be based on the NHS services, but simply on getting thr bottom line to tally – the consultabts are bean counters. The “external” axe is then seen as impartial and unavoidable, its an old trick, and the big four are especially good at extracting money from organisations. Because the £21m will balloon into 5x that supplying “expertise” in implementing their cunning plan.

Sadly Britain is now only capable of using consultants rather than their own brains and experience, and nothing is ever done without crates of Business Plans, Marketing Analysis, Cost Analysis, Corporate Philosophy statements and all the other claptrap of a society dominated by and obsessed with consultants.

Looks like the plans have succeeded in cutting a tenth of the savings by just paying these bodies and taking the money away. The Slash trash and privatise outcome seems to be stop treating sick people, don’t attend emergencies and spend the money on telling people they should adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The past forty years has been the constant drive to cut costs, or that under-funding has been the excuse to so say save money. We know the truth which is that it is the deliberate plan to create inefficient public services to aid the process of privatisation.

Who are these private consultants and how successful are they at delivering the service they have spent so much time and money to achieve. McKinsey of course are responsible for advising the Tories on privatisation.

The real results are there for all to see, the obvious conclusions to draw from all of this is the private sector doesn’t deliver either on advice or delivery, but we do have some real experts within the public sector already that have not been listened to, but have successfully predicted the outcomes of the damage done to our public services, by the private sector and Neo-Liberal politicians of all colours.

Our country has been systematically dismantled for private gain and these so called experts have only one purpose and that is to ensure all public services end up in private hands. Regardless of the damage this does to the economy or the services themselves.

This is an example of just one of Britain’s real experts, explaining how the Tories are dismantling the NHS and it’s consequences. Dr Lucy Reynoldshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkTnCtg_Omk

I would wager these same management consultants have a prepared agenda for their audiences to take on board which would not be a million miles from their beloved leaders that Hunts long range plans. I would hope those on all the front lines had their own views on how to save money not some over priced trained management suits on a set mission that have probably never seen a hospital environment or work place.

More Chiefs than Indians all like lemmings doing there best to push the NHS over the edge, a friends daughter is a manager in one of the trusts and gets £600 to go to a meeting and £1,000 if she chairs the meeting and all she talk about is saving money, she gets mileage and a dinner thrown in
