Tory youth group wants JACOB REES-MOGG to take over as PM. Has the website been hacked again?

This is breathtaking. Only a day after This Writer posted ridicule of Jacob Rees-Mogg from members of the public, to show how unfit he is to lead the country, Tory youth wing Activate has demanded that he should take over as leader from Theresa May.

Here’s the message, from Twitter:

https://twitter.com/ActivateBritain/status/904752710599266304

It says: “Activate are now backing Jacob Rees-Mogg for the next leader of the Conservative Party.

“The decision was made based on a unanimous vote amongst Activate leadership and regional representatives.

“We feel that Theresa May’s leadership is simply not working, and we require fresh direction.

“Activate will now be openly backing Jacob Rees-Mogg as we feel he has the vision and competence to lead the Conservatives into the next General Election and deliver a Brexit that truly works for everybody.”

The announcement has been almost universally derided.

This Writer particularly enjoyed the response from rival Conservative youth group VicTory:

https://twitter.com/Vic_ToryUK/status/904826515782856705

It says (spelling mistakes as written): “Here @VicTory, we have observed with growing dismay the debacle unfolding at @Activate Britain.

“We would like to take the opportunity to distance ourselves from this embarrassing spectacle.

“There is a desperate need for a genuine movement that can harness the passion and potential of young people for the cause of Conservative values.

“It is, therefore, a shame, that neither Activate, or it’s less well known sister account @OurConviction, can provide a coherent or inspiring conduit for that potential.

“Therefore, we at VicTory sense that it is our opportunity, and our city, to step up to the plate – as the ONLY genuine voice of Conservative youth.

“We call upon all fine young, upstanding and moderate young people to stand with us – together, we will prevail.

“‘There is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families.'”

If this is in any way a reference to Activate’s support for Mr Rees-Mogg, then it is doubly hilarious because of this:

For This Writer, of course, the new development represents a tremendous opportunity.

Hours after I said supporting Rees-Mogg was ridiculous, Activate came out in support of Rees-Mogg.

I must try this again! Send in your suggestions!

So Activate want to “deliver a Brexit that truly works for everyone”. What a fatuous statement: some people want a hard Brexit, some people want a soft Brexit and possibly the majority of people want no Brexit at all !

If Rees-Moog becomes the next Tory leader it will mean even more votes for Jeremy Corbyn. A few unpleasant hard-line, right-wing Tory toffs together with some would-be Tory toffs would support Rees-Moog, and that’s about it.

No surprise there. Reading the list of things he voted for, he fits right in with the nazi-youth-style ideals of typical young Tory toffs.
