Rough sleeper ‘set on fire and murdered’ – and homelessness is increasing thanks to the Tories

Post-mortem tests indicate Giles Metcalfe died as a result of the effects of a fire [Kent Police].

It’s a particularly vile crime: Attacking people who are sleeping rough, simply because they have been unable to keep a roof over their heads and are therefore vulnerable.

In extreme situations, the victims can suffer terrible injuries or – as in this tragic instance – death.

But This Writer didn’t want to draw attention to the case of Giles Metcalfe solely because of its own sad circumstances.

I wanted to remind you that, thanks to Conservative government policies, the number of people sleeping rough has increased exponentially.

Also thanks to Tory policies, the number of police has decreased massively.

This means the sorry excuses for humanity who get a kick out of humiliating the vulnerable, helpless and defenceless may be looking forward to a Winter of Malcontent, in which they can burn the homeless just as much as they like and be able to get away with it.

Police forces have already said cuts in staff forced on them by Theresa May and her stooges mean they will have to prioritise the crimes they investigate. One wonders how much priority they will give to injuries inflicted on people who are homeless and therefore, by definition, have nobody who cares about them.

Or do they?

I think the crime committed on Giles Metcalfe is a stain on our national character.

It shows up the British as uncaring, compassionless, cruel and sadistic – out for a quick thrill at the expense of people who cannot fight back.

If you hate to consider that such a description could be applied to you, then you need to do something about it.

So let’s find a way to get those homeless people off the streets and out of harm’s way. Nobody should be sleeping rough in the sixth- (or is it fifth-?) richest country in the world.

There are mechanisms for finding accommodation for these people – let’s make sure they’re being used properly.

Or would you rather just let people burn? There is a historical precedent for it, after all.

A man who had separated from his wife was doused in barbecue fluid and burnt to death in a town centre car park, a murder trial has heard.

Giles Metcalfe, 43, died from burns and smoke inhalation in Tunbridge Wells in the early hours of 7 March.

Shocking, but with a divisive Tory government this is only to be expected. Jacob Rees-Mogg recently tried to claim that he found it “UPLIFTING” that UK is a CHARITABLE Nation. Perhaps this tragic case might make him realise that he sees the world through rose-tinted glasses and that UK is turning nasty. Xenophobia massively increasing too. Tory Crimes Against Humanity.

Such an act is beyond the imagination of a human-being but you are right Mike, most of the blame must go to those who should be doing their job properly and helping such situations rather than making them worse.

A program about homeless people on Welsh TV last week, they took the lives of two people who are homeless and followed them . Both were drug addicts , both were talking methadone, both needed help yes I agree, but why not two people who were made homeless by sanctions or had lost welfare through being disabled but failed the WCA, why did the BBC think two drug addicts were the way to go, I did not feel sorry for those two, I would not house drug addicts who have had social housing before and failed to stop taking or selling drugs .

But real people who have seen what life is like under the Tories those are the people we should be watching and feeling sorry for and helping.

    Shocking report .

    Two key findings from a recent NAO report on homelessness;

    https://www.nao.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Homelessness.pdf

“Changes to Local Housing Allowance are likely to have contributed to the
affordability of tenancies for those on benefits, and are an element of the increase
    in homelessness”

“The government has not fully assessed the impact of its welfare reforms on
    homelessness”

They should not be on the street in the first place. They should be in a toasty warm home, with food and drink.

This was entirely the sort of thing the UN rapporteur was referring to in her remarks about the toxic Tory propaganda against the vulnerable. While her remarks were made in the context of the Tory anti-human rights actions, it obviously has over-lap with the same excrement poured forth from the MSM about all marginalised groups being led by the govt in tone and content. So very sad. Probably a very long way past sad, in fact.
