Catalan referendum brutality is a warning to the UK of what happens when a government turns against the people

The violence by Spanish police against the people of Catalonia is a harsh lesson to us all.

It shows that a government that does not accept the will of the people – we’re told 90 per cent of those who managed to vote wanted independence – is happy to harm the people who try to exercise that will.

It shows that such a government will use its police force as a political weapon to gain its own ends.

Basically, it has shown us the behaviour of a Conservative government, in the UK, in the near future.

Tories will cling onto power, no matter what. And they are becoming desperate. That is why This Writer is concerned that we will see similar scenes to those shown in the video clips that follow – not in a foreign land but here on our home soil.

Spain’s prime minister doesn’t care about democracy. We have seen recently, with their moves to rig Parliamentary committee membership and deny the result of the general election, that the Tories don’t care about democracy either.

So take careful note of what happened in Catalonia. It could happen on your doorstep soon.

The above is a very good question – but then, the BBC initially chose not to show the violence being carried out on the orders of the Spanish prime minister, and came under fire for it:

Catalan emergency officials say 761 people have been injured as police used force to try to block voting in Catalonia’s independence referendum.

The Spanish government had pledged to stop a poll that was declared illegal by the country’s constitutional court.

Police officers prevented some people from voting, and seized ballot papers and boxes at polling stations.

In the regional capital Barcelona, police used batons and fired rubber bullets during pro-referendum protests.

But if the Conservatives get their way, the police will be no doubt be getting a hand from G4S and Serco.

This may well happen when the Scots vote for Independence but I am inspired by Catalonian determination not cowed by the Spanish thugs.

I think you may have to wait a long time for another Scottish independence vote.

Beware the Globalist agenda coming to a Country near you. This Catalonia situation is just a mild taste of what they have planned. Interesting the Government out there are using their police who are blindly doing what they are told….as can be seen with relish. In the US many FEMA camps, currently empty, have been erected all over the US just waiting for globalist takeover to go ahead….I also understand the UK have similar covert facilities waiting but with a bent press so far no whistle blowers have been brave enough to come forward as to what is going on and just whIch traitors in the UK will be driving and controlling this situation. So beware the UK could be in the same situation with a dark arts shadow government waiting for the globalist signal to put the takeover into operation using police and armed forces to their own ends. Please take some time to research the Net about the FEMA camps in the US and many other similar dark accumulations of materials and resources necessary for a major coup that may be taking place in the very near future. Does not make very nice reading and better forearmed than blistfully blind but live in hope the Globalist agenda gets taken out before they get to far into their nasty takeover agenda.

What I saw, in Cataluña, last night, on the news, was senseless, gratuitous and totally unnecessary violence. What instructions were police given? For Spain’s Prime Minister to say that he was proud of his police for carrying out their duty means that, either he had no clue as to what actually took place, or the police were acting upon his explicit instruction. No explanation can be found in my mind for what I witnessed, last night.
As for similar scenes on our streets; have those not already been witnessed?

You only need to look as far as the peaceful Fracking protesters where excessive force is being used daily.

You may remember that despite mass objections from the local council and community, Javid ruled that it go ahead regardless because business comes first.

    Bloody Disgusting
    This is a job I’m sure G4s would love . . .

As the Spanish Government have claimed that the vote is illegal and they do not accept the result, why did they feel the need to unleash the Police on people who were voting? Why have the eu supported the Spanish government instead of expressing revulsion at the way the Spanish have treated their own citizens, pretending ti is a national issue and nothing to do with them is obscene.

The tories did do something similar … the miners strikes of the 80s

Have to disagree with you on this one Mike. Only 50% of eligible Catalonion voters actually voted. You may think it was because of police intimidation at polling stations but not 50% surely. I have Catalonian friends who are aghast at the idea of Spain falling apart.
Referenda are poisonous as we know to our own cost. The Referendum was illegal and should not have taken place. Only national Govt’s are empowered to call one.
Lets suppose that Sadiq Khan decided that as London created a lot of the wealth of UK that London should become an independent state and called a Referendum. Would you agree to that happening? Why are people so incensed that the wealth ‘they” created should only be “shared” by them? That smacks of Tory dogma which I believe is something you oppose.
I think you have got all upset by mobile phone footage showing Guardia Civil trying to uphold Spanish Govt’s democratic mandate using the same tactics that UK police would adopt in similar situation and spouting “flouting the will of the people” is a tired and hackneyed expression.

No, I “got all upset” at the sight of police being used as political tools by an unscrupulous political organisation that is determined to maintain its power over an indiginous people, no matter whether they should be allowed to continue doing so or not.

It’s consistent with my attitude to the Conservatives here in the UK.
