Tory council leader gives himself pay rise after declaring he is running a multi-million pound empire

Last Updated: October 30, 2017By

Keith Glazier: What a charmer.

All in it together, eh?

At a time when Conservative MPs stand accused of – and are confessing to – sexual harassment (Michael Fallon, for example), this can only help seal the Tory party’s electoral doom.

They are selfish to the point of psychosis, and they are sex criminals.

And their leader – the UK’s prime minister – not only knows all this but has actively supported it in the former case, and hid it in the latter. She cannot be allowed to stay in office, and neither can any of her party.

council leader has given himself a pay rise, after declaring he is running a multi-million pound empire.

Keith Glazier, head of Tory-run East Sussex County Council, voted in favour of the 37 per cent pay hike at a time when council workers’ pay has been stagnant, with wages either frozen or held to a one per cent increase for eight years.

Liberal Democrat councillor Sarah Osborne who voted against the rise, she said: “I am very strongly against it when the council is having to make such drastic cuts to major services – services that are in desperate need of funding.

“No councillors should be getting a pay rise. It is completely inappropriate and absolutely ridiculous.”

Wiltshire Council have just voted themselves large allowance increases, only one Tory councillor voted against, so the Liberals are as bad as the Tories. We have had public toilets closed, our street cleaner made redundant, our Hospital transport bus cancelled and numerous other cuts. The council motto is “where people matter!” I don’t think so.
