My fellow blogger Steve Walker got to this one before me – I planned to cover the Lords’ NHS debate but was distracted by an ignorant letter in the local press, written by the Conservative Parliamentary candidate. I might try to find another angle on this tomorrow but in the meantime I urge you to read this Skwawkbox article and lament the fact that Labour cannot deselect its lords.

We expected Tory Lords to vote to privatise our NHS but those dirty,spineless,craven,gutless collaborating LibDem Lords like
Paddy Ashdown and Shirly Williams (ex Labour) are beyond the
pale.When our day of reckoning comes they can join the Tories
on the scaffold, especially Labour Lord Warner who I have asked
to resign and lose the Labour whip.Evil scum all of them.It will be
worth abolishing the House of Lords just to get rid of them.
UK country for the rich, but they hide their money in another country.
No jobs for the young why, because they make the older ones work
longer. Older people are the Volunteers of this country, why are rich
people paid when the work for a charity? We are all in this togeter
what are we in THE SHIT by greedy rich.

You only have to look at the USA and see how there health care is, I lived in the US, was married to a man in the US Air Force so I could go on base if I was ill but I did know people who did not have at choice, one lady need an hysterectomy she could no afford to pay so she had to ask a charity she had the operation but she could not stay in the hospital as long as she should have she could only stay in 3 days. some people can not get charity, and that is what will happen in the UK now it is a very very sad day.
This may be a good place to urge readers to sign my e-petition on the government’s website, calling for MPs to be banned from speaking or voting on matters in which they have a financial interest – to take the corruption out of Parliament, in essence (with apologies to regular readers who have already signed).

I won’t lament not being able to deselect labour peers because I never placed any faith in them or in the unelected house in the first place. labour laid the groundwork for NHS privatization, they don’t have the integrity to admit it, obviously,
but it’s written in history.

Regardless of which party we vote in next, the only thing that will change is the colour of the ties on the front bench. What we need is a change to the ballot paper. An extra entry one that say’s No representative Party!
