International recognition of what we always knew: ‘inherited mess’ = myth

Last Updated: August 5, 2013By

Since the myth that Labour had mishandled the economy is something that Vox Political has tried to expose many times, this is an article we can support wholeheartedly.
The truth is out: The Tories have lied extravagantly about the cause of the UK’s current economic woes. It follows that they are lying about the solution, and therefore every hardship that you or people you know have been forced to endure in the name of austerity is also based on a lie.
They’ve taken billions of pounds away from people who desperately needed that money – many of them to survive. Many of those people are no longer with us now.
All for the sake of a big lie.
How does that make you feel?
Spread the word, eh?

This is certainly very illuminating, but my question is if Labour have access to the same facts as detailed here why do they seem so paralyzed whenever the Tories trot out their lies about the “mess they inherited”? Labour should be refuting the Tory lies at every opportunity and putting the facts out there via every media outlet who’ll listen; why do Labour seem to be so timid at the moment?

It was such a relief when I heard Peter Hain refuting those lies very strongly on Any Questions a few weeks ago. He, of course, has quit the shadow cabinet and I did wonder if these things were connected.
