I’d like to just make a point that offering to kill politicians is neither good nor legal, so can people please not do so in comments on this site. Threats to kill are still crimes and they ARE taken seriously!
(This notice is, of course, for the person who sent a very particular message in response to this article).
What, the threats to kill? Police might see it differently. I can’t put the comment on the site because it would incriminate the commenter and I might get dragged in as an accessory.
Mike sivier.. they made war against there own citizens and we got to sit back and let them get away with it don’t think so lets get them out the easy way are the hard way which ever thy want its all the same to me
think either way you look at it,either a death threat or not, still its very clear just how bad Cameron and co have pushed people,if this were in the 80s when so much takeing ,by corrupt and greedy people, they would have been riots by know, saying we get our turn in 2015 will im afraid be to late, the rot is setting on know, people are killing themselves in the 7th richest country on the planet, shows something is clearly wrong
it should be if they do not do the job we are paying them to do we should be able to give them there p45 just like any employer would do this 5yr law should only be if we there employer are happy with there work

All the passion and pain of the letter I fully endorse, but I thought you too sailed close to the wind, Mike Sivier. Perhaps it would be more constructive to run a petition asking for a change in the law, so that the guaranteed 5-year term no longer exists AND/OR ask MPs of all non-Tory parties for a vote of no confidence in the government.
How did I sail close to the wind? By warning people that threatening to kill politicians (or anyone else) is against the law and posting such messages to political blogs could lead to them having their collar felt by unfriendly neighbourhood constables? That’s a public service!
I think there have already been petitions for both of the things you suggest. In all seriousness, we won’t get a repeal of the fixed-term parliament law until after the Coalition is a memory, because they need the security that being bolted into place by an Act of Parliament supplies; and the no confidence vote is a losing proposition for the same reason (Liberal Democrats will hold on to power for as long as they can because they know they’re on their last gasp).
i second it well said just wrote one to ed milliband telling he has an opportunity to help people on his facebook like page lol.
