I used to do work on the issues faced by people with mental health problems in returning to work. When the Work Programme was proposed I looked at the tender document to consider possible employment opportunities. I thought that it would go to the wrong companies, and they would be doing the wrong things. I think I was proved right.
A lot of it is about transferring public money into private hands, as it often is with the Tories. The rest is just about their nasty ideology, propaganda and demonising of claimants.
