Similar E-zone data has been used for a number of years to determine local areas of socio-economic deprivation and to determine appropriate levels of public funding in certains fields such as education and healthcare.
Interesting – is it not – that the current government has announced its intention to end all future censuses, ending an unbroken series since 1801.
Anything – yet again – to mske future comparisons politically incomparable.
It has been suggested that similar data will be avaliable from European sources but there has been no details provided of what form the data will take.
I hope Labour will reinstate the Census, in order to make comparisons possible.
