How does privatising Eurostar make economic sense when we can use it to cut our debts?

Take a look at this infographic from Another Angry Voice:

Osborne Eurostar Privatisation AAV1

He’s absolutely correct, of course. To hammer the point home, the Angry Yorkshireman has provided us with the following – visual – indication of just what a small drop in an extremely deep ocean this money would be:

Osborne Eurostar AAV2

The real answer wouldn’t be clear to a privateer like Osborne, which is why he should go back to folding towels.

Eurostar must remain a public asset!

When the UK government has a massive debt to pay off, the idea of selling a profit-making enterprise indicates stupidity of earth-shaking proportions!

You keep Eurostar and use its profits to pay off your debts!

While you’re at it, there are a few other profitable concerns you should be nationalising, too.

Osborne is a child, trying to do a grown-up’s job.

It only makes sense to the TORIES because they are a very nasty and selfish breed.

Flogging off the last bits of the family silver? Does Osborne think the bailiffs are coming?

Now listen here Gideon, repeat after me: 1 and 1 is 2; 2 and 2 are 4; 3 and 3 are 6……..when you get into the billions Giddy Boy, can you answer this question:

If you have a national debt of £1,432.3 billion and you take away £0.3 billion, how much is left of the national debt?

No, you silly Billy, £0.3 billion is negligible in the scheme of things. Put on your dunce’s cap and sit on the naughty step!

Reminds me of a scene from Hancock’s Half Hour in which Kenneth Williams is Hancock’s ‘fag’ at public school – aged 27, but still in the first form. He goes off singing, “One and one are two; two and two are four; four and four… One and one are two…”

A few months ago one of the private train companies was getting a lot of flak for poor service and over-crowding. The German boss of this German company was interviewed on BBC TV news and said words to the effect of ” I understand that you are unhappy with the service, but your Government sold us the franchise and we use the profits from it to improve our business in Germany.” You have to admire his frankness and honesty, but it proves that the Tory idea of Privatisation is “Selling to foreign companies for far less than market value so they can take the profits back home”. This have been proven time and time again since Thatcher started it.

well let’s be honest the people making the profit out of the eurostar built at great expense to the tax payers will be tory backers, so in osbornes parallel universe it makes complete sense.

A child trying to do a mans job, how precise. If it wasn’t so disastrous it could be funny. The Gidiot is a total baffoon of the highest order and should be sectioned before he causes more mayhem. How can someone of this calibre be in charge of the economy, words fail me !!!!!!!
