Right-wing loonie Philip Davies is at it again, according to The Independent.

The Tory MP for Shipley, who came to prominence a few years ago as the original Tory who suggested disabled people should work for less than the minimum wage, has now claimed that sex education is fueling an increase in teenage pregnancies.

If he had bothered to check the figures, Davies might have known that teen pregnancies are at their lowest in 40 years.

And that is only to be expected.

Under Conservative governments, sex slumps while suicides rise.

Wherever do the Tories find these Neanderthals?

I assume he also thinks that teaching about the history of warfare makes wars more likely, and that teaching about crime makes criminals more likely.

When I did sex education we were shown all the different forms of birth control and how to use them – plus how you could get hold of them. The attending doctor also tried to shatter the various myths (such as you can’t get pregnant first time you have sex – which of course you can…) I don’t see how this can increase pregnancy. What’s next – stranger danger increases the number of kids being picked up by nonces?

Well, talking of nonces, there are many Tory skeletons in that particular cupboard.

At least it’s reassuring that not all the loonies and fruit cakes are allegedly in UKIP! :-)
