Cameron’s pre-election contract: a catalogue of lies – kittysjones

Last Updated: November 14, 2014By

Here’s fun. Let’s let kittysjones explain:

I felt that this post was very worth preserving from Conservativehome, since it is a signed contract between the Conservatives and UK citizens, the insincerity of which is very evident four years on from when it was written. I took the liberty of converting the PDF into JPEG digital images, to preserve an exact copy of the contract, just in case the Tories decide to delete the original – well they do have form, after all. (See: Some of the promises the Tories are trying to delete from the internet  and  Lynton Crosby’s staff deleted valid criticism from Wikipedia, for example.)

“So this is our contract with you. I want you to read it and – if we win the election – use it to hold us to account. If we don’t deliver our side of the bargain, vote us out in five years’ time.”

Signed D. Cameron
May 2010.

Right. Below you’ll find kittysjones’ copy of the contract. Have a good read through it; there are a few bitter belly-laughs in there that, with hindsight, you’ll need to get through before getting down to the serious business, which is to go through and pick out the lies, half-truths… any part that deviates from what has in fact been enacted since. When you’ve dug out your nuggets of naughtiness and pearls of pottiness, please send them in as comments.

Perhaps we might publish the result, in printable leaflet form…

Here in New Brighton, we’re just starting a campaign to try and save the remaining Sure Start children’s centres, so the idea that Cameron promised to support Sure Start and provide 4,200 extra health visitors is astonishing. So many Sure Start centres have been closed and many have shrunk and struggle to survive at all. It’s staggering that politicians lie with such ease, and no remorse when quality of life is being affected for those with young families.

You couldn’t make this up! The sheer audacity and hypocrisy of this unelected government beggars belief. They treat us with utter contempt. They also broke their promise as to when the State Pension Age would be raised. If you have had enough of Condems lies, hypocrisy and deceit please join the 24,842 of us who have made a stand against them by signing and sharing this petition http://you.38degrees.org.uk/p/statepension law Thanks

Well that’s more like it – seeing what Labour actually want to do, and I’m loving it all. Would like to hear what he has to say about benefits, disabled and long term health benefits and the WCA, as well as PIP, ESA, etc.
I really hope that Labour do get into the next parliament as winners – I would love it to be a landslide but we have too many fools saying that they are going to vote UKIP, therefore wasting their votes. I don’t think that UKIP will get that many seats, but the SNP will and they would join Labour if needed.
How many people will also take Cameron and his goons to task for the last 4+ years, and how many will actually have the police waiting for them at the end of their term? I know I’ll be one of them making a police complaint about the deaths of citizens due to their policies and their absolute discrimination about the poor, the disabled and the elderly!

I really, REALLY wouldn`t know where to start in refuting this!
At least every other point of this ‘contract’ has been broken if not actually u-turned upon.
