Political parties may be neck-and-neck but Vox Political has surged
While people are busy voting, it seems a perfect opportunity to express some gratitude for the huge boost in popularity that Vox Political has enjoyed during the past few weeks.
Articles on the blog were read almost 417,000 times in April – that’s nearly 14,000 times every day – making the blog the most popular platform for this writer since 1997.
On Facebook, Vox Political‘s posts reached a high of more than 800,000 people per week, while the low point was still more than half a million. The page now has more than 10,000 followers.
And on Twitter, Vox Political‘s tweets were read more than two million times per week.
All of that constitutes a huge vote of confidence in the blog and the information it provides. Thanks are due to every single reader who has put their faith in this small blog from the edge of the UK.
Once the election is over, it seems likely the situation will calm down and the figures will return to pre-campaign levels.
But it has been fun to bask in the limelight while it was there.

Doing your bit to oversee the end of the paper monopoly on news and countering the right wing muck we have to put up with.
The more blogs like this and more people online to read them, the better things should get, politically. This is why the Daily Mail is absolutely terrified of the net, it removes their reason for being and ends the media barons’ self-assumed role as arbiters of news.
