Yesterday’s man David Miliband says ‘Election defeat has sent Labour back to the classroom’

Last Updated: May 28, 2015By Tags:

If these comments are the best David Miliband has to offer (and they are the only comments in the article relevant to Labour’s election defeat), then he should stay where he is.

In comments that will add to speculation that he plans a return to British politics, Miliband said he was part of a Labour team that won elections rather than lost them. “I was in the backroom in the early 1990s when Labour in the UK figured out how to win elections rather than lose them,” he said. “As this month’s election in the UK showed, the electorate have recently sent us back to the classroom for the second time in five years.”

When are these uber Blairites going to realise that Labour voters don’t want Tory-lite but a chance to elect a better more inclusive society and one in particular with a more humane face?

DM’s comment don’t seem very constructive. It seems that he’s more interested in blowing his own trumpet than doing anything to get his party elected.

The reason why tony Blair got elected was because he was offering a positive way forward following on from mrs thatcher and john major and to look after those less fortunate which he did with tax credits

If he had not made the serous error over Iraq in 2003 and had seen the financial meltdown in 2008 he would have remained in power today

Both of the above should have been easy to avoid but for some reason they were not in the case of iraq its weapons of mass destruction program that had never been proven and with a better deplomcy could have all been avoided

As for 2008 there again with a housing bubble that was there for everyone to see but for some odd reason those that should have seen trouble coming (FSA) did not despite the fact many like myself tried hard in the years leading up to 2008 but which fell as always on deaf ears

All the next labour leader needs to do is to be of genuine character with a emphasis on looking out for all both rich and poor and to make sure that message is sent out loud and clear

Stick a bung in/up both ends of Millibar’s orifices, I never want to hear another bleat from this sheep and his imbecile, would be, Chancellor (what a laugh)…
Millitwat can go beg a job at Harvard, the one he claimed he had before, more BS of course, and Balls should seek a brain transplant, any old brain will do it has to be ten times better than what he showed us.

…………bring back Old Gravel Voice (Wilson) fondly remembered from my 1960s teens. On the whole we did quite well under Supermac (you’ve never had it so good) MacMillan and Wilson. Went to prove that a balanced economy worked well under both moderate Labour and Tory administrations. The high inflation during the 1970s stemmed from the 1973 oil crisis. The rot started when Milk-Snatcher Thatcher (spit) snatched power in 1979 and the happy days finished for good.
