“It’s more-or-less clear that they’ll not contest me being there,” Skinner said.

In his opinion, they would be wise to accept defeat and let their leader, Angus Robertson, do what successive Liberal Democrat leaders did and occupy the place on the second row directly behind Skinner instead of sharing the front bench with members of Labour’s awkward squad.

    I’m pleased Dennis has his seat back if nothing else it shows respect and if the SNP have not got that what the hell are they doing in the house of commons in the first place

    now it’s true most mp’s are disrespectful and that’s always been the case but none the less we don’t need 56 new mp’s adding to that disrespect

    If he’s happy to say he has won a war, let him enjoy himself. As I have commented before, the SNP were merely making a point on that first, non-parliamentary day and had no intention of getting up early simply to keep an old man off his seat. The media will milk this till the coo is dry though.
