Were pervert MPs protected to prevent embarrassing a Tory government?

Implicated: Leon Brittan [Image: Guardian].

Implicated: Leon Brittan [Image: Guardian].

If The Guardian‘s story yesterday is correct, it seems the Conservative Government of the 1980s was perfectly happy to protect child abusing cabinet members, because the harm they caused to “small boys” was deemed to be less important than “the risks of political embarrassment to the government”.

In fact, the risk posed to children was not considered at all; the only concerns set out in correspondence between then-director general of MI5, Sir Anthony Duff, and then-Cabinet Secretary Sir Robert Armstrong were dangers to security (national security?) and political embarrassment for the Conservatives.

If that does not make you physically sick with disgust at the attitudes that pervaded the top level of government in the United Kingdom, read it again until it does.

Implicated in the papers are the recently-deceased former Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, along with Margaret Thatcher’s parliamentary private secretary, Sir Peter Morrison, former diplomat Sir Peter Hayman and former minister Sir William van Straubenzee.

Note carefully the fact that everybody implicated had a knighthood – indicating just how institutionalised child abuse appears to have been.

The other connection between them is that they are all dead – meaning that, if they did commit crimes against children, all of them escaped justice because they were connected with a Conservative government.

The papers came to light months after an official review concluded that claims the Home Office covered up child abuse allegations in the 1980s – including when Lord Brittan was Home Secretary – were “not proven”, and also several months after the sudden death of Lord Brittan himself – it was claimed he had succumbed after a long battle with cancer but, if so, it is strange that nobody seemed to have heard of it before.

The Cabinet Office is saying that the papers have only come to light now, because they had been kept in a store of “the Cabinet Secretary’s miscellaneous papers” at the National Archive where they had lain, largely uncatalogued and unregistered, with others accumulated over several decades up to 2007.

Do you believe that cover story?

Cabinet Office permanent secretary Richard Heaton wrote to Peter Wanless, head of the NSPCC and author of the official review, in May apologising for a “flaw in the way the Cabinet Office initially responded” to his, and fellow review author, barrister Richard Whittam’s, request for documents, and confirming that three categories of papers had since been identified as potentially relevant.

In a supplement to the review, released online yesterday, Wanless and Whittam said: “We are concerned and disappointed that the Cabinet Office was aware of the separate Cabinet Office store of assorted and unstructured papers, yet informed us that the searches covered all records and files held.”

So there it is. A previous Conservative Government hid evidence of child abuse among its ranks.

And the current Conservative Government obstructed investigations into these historic abuses until after all those involved were dead.

I believe this disgusting attitude still pervades the Nasty Tory Party today. Nothing has chnaged, they just pretend to be concerned.

What do I think of it? It is EXACTLY what I have come to expect of the Tories.

I think, we have all had enough of their bulls**t & it’s our duty 2 protect children, in order 2 do so we must remove those responsible for coverups that r taking place time & time again. We must demand the TRUTH.

I notice that significantly fewer people have been reading this article than the piece about the ‘Welfare Reform and Work Bill’ vote on Monday. Either we haven’t all had enough of their bulls**t or people who’ve read the article aren’t bothering to share it on for others to get the message.
What conclusions may we draw from that, I wonder?

Mike, I don’t think it’s about lack of care about this compared with other issues. every time I read about it, it makes me so sad for the victims, impotent to do anything but rage against the system. Not every one will always be able to face the distress these issue raise. It is the fact that this is seen as an historical issue too, and not as we see it as a very current issue – as you highlight the role of Cameron in the past few years.

If any proof were needed that the Tory party & the Establishment have only utter contempt for the ordinary people (seen as less than human, but as only having purpose for the use of the same individuals and establishment) we can look at how they are now treating our disabled, unemployed, poorly paid, and think “isn’t that enough for all to see their corruption?”. Sadly. no, many people do not see the connections to this horrendous litany of child abuse & cover-up. It is no error that to be able to enter many of the roles one must pass the “posh test”. i’ve known that all my life. The establishment will continue to cover up, even when past wrongs are shown the light of day. The Tory party (and the class they are from) are a large part of the problem, shown by the recent shenanigans, but how can that be dealt with in a democracy? (And that’s not a rhetorical question – how is this going to be rooted out?)

Plus recent items circulated on these blogs have called Exaro “MI5/ 6 Stooges”. It’s certainly muddying the waters (of course!), making any bystander bewildered.

I’ll need to see a LOT of evidence before I accept such claims about Exaro.

I’m old enough to remember a Sunday newspaper no longer in print that covered a story about the late Mr.Brittan where he was caught by the police running down a street in his underwear chasing. a naked boy and the whole matter was covered up. The then prime minister Margaret Thatcher packed him off to Europe to become a minister there where he remained until he retired and returned home to the UK…..where nobody had forgotten this little episode or his visits to a certain guest house or should I say child brothel?Funny how these stories never go away isn’t it?I believe his PA in Europe all those years ago was a certain Mr.Clegg,I wonder if there is any connection to a certain Lib Dem politician.?

It is not a nice World, never has been nor never will be, be very wary of anybody selling cause related claptrap, they are all on the take and on the make, recall that it is the Catholic Church who are the largest paedophile organisation in the World.

No doubt MPs and Lords are all mixed in with the religious perverts, and were suitably trained at the Public Schools their parents abandoned them at.
The real question is, is there any institution where they have not been ‘at it?

    • Mike Sivier July 23, 2015 at 9:51 am - Reply

I don’t think you can say the Catholic Church is a paedophile organisation; it isn’t set up for that purpose and the number of ordinary worshippers (as far as we know) far outweighs the number of people involved in that activity. There are many Catholics who would rightly be incensed at your suggestion.

Don’t forget Cyril Smith from your list though not a Tory still a child abusing MP who ‘got away with it’ through alleged pressure from Downing Street placed on Chief Constables of the day (who in my mind should be charged with aiding and abetting) – They were more interested (like Parliament) in keeping their jobs than in justice being applied ‘without fear or favour’ and what a sad joke that is!

I do wonder if there were any MP’s or Civil Servants at the time who knew about this but just ignored it.
If so, what sort of peson can just let this type of thing happen?
Corrouption in Westminster knows no bounds.

I think that’s exactly the point – they did know about it but they closed ranks.

You fail again!!! You all do. It’s masonics. The connection is clear but you won’t admit it. These people are protected because of their connections to secret societies. That’s it in a nutshell, and to perpetuate this myth is to go along with them and cover it up!

A certain section of society inherits an almost genetic feudal belief that the lower orders are there to be “used” for any purpose they deem fit. Be it as canon fodder to uphold the status quo, slaves to labour for their enrichment or – as in this disgusting case – toys to feed their perverted sexual appetites. A disposable resources for their personal gain and amusement. Their only code of honour is to protect their own!

Don’t forget the current story about a prominent sitting Labour MP paedophile. There are past stories about Labour politicians as well as LIB Cyril Smith. This is not a specific party problem and all people involved should be held to account including people have covered up any details.

    • Mike Sivier July 23, 2015 at 7:46 pm - Reply

You’ll be stunned to learn that I agree. Paedophilia has no place in any political organisation. The point here, though, was that the Conservatives were happy to use the mechanisms of government to hide the alleged behaviour of these Tories.

Its nothing to do with the Masons that sort of perversion’s would not be tolerated. If there are members of this present Conservative Administration and I include all of them then they should be investigated by the Police. Then brought to trial, tried and the Guilty Punished according to the law. Then Public Outrage will be enough to finish them off and taint a Guilty Conservative Party for decades into the future. That in my belief is what should happen! The public are very quick to condemn others outside politics they same must happen to those in Politics after all they are not above the law,- no one is. This is disgraceful and disgusting,.. the very thought that a paedophile should be protected no matter who they are.

They’re dead, so they can’t reveal who’s at it now, can they?

      Exactly the point.

Lords, Commons, Masons, Roman Catholic Church, Public Schools, Uncle Tom Cobley, The Salvation Army…

The Salvation Army? Yes, child abuse knows no social, cultural, religious or political bounds, but Mike makes a good point earlier on when he says the Roman Catholic Church (as one example) is not a paedophile organisation “per se”, but it has it’s share of rogue priests who take advantage of children and vulnerable adults on a global scale.

At least the RC church and The Salvation Army are setting out to compensate the victims, but any deliberate cover-up in high government circles by “closing ranks” is reprehensible. But then, prevarication and procrastination are the hallmarks of top politicians!

The Salvation Army, and the RC church, or rather rogue elements of these “venerated” organisations, are also involved in (unBiblical) workfare fraud in Australia. The SA is even involved in dubious accounting activities in this country, and in child abuse in Australia.

Short answer, yes, politicians, especially the tories, are all perverts, they all would’ve known of Saville’s behaviour, they all would’ve participated in his deviant ways, that’s why he got away with it for, they were in on it with him, was such good mates with them all, especially Thatcher, more than likely a perv herself, this report should be kept in the people’s conscience and seen all the way through to the end, not stonewalled and halted by the tories, they don’t want it revealed because it will expose who’s on the list, leaders of the past and other prominent MPs like Britton, why give it to him, he was more than likely on the list, so much for Theresa May saying she wants it to be published, Cameron wants it dropped, tells you all you need to know about that posh, pompous pervert, well if you believe that the public should know what went on in the past and currently Ms. May, then I suggest you heed your own words and keep putting pressure on your pathetic leader and get the report sorted out and revealed to the country, we have a right to know just what sick and twisted things they all got up to and still do today!
