Excuse Us, Mr Osborne; Public Assets are NOT Private Handouts | jaynelinney

Last Updated: August 7, 2015By

The latest from fellow blogger Jayne Linney: She’s absolutely right.

My last post concerned the rationale for Osborne continuing to slash the Welfare Budget whilst giving £93BILLION in Corporate Handouts; at the same time I also started a new petition on Change.Org  demanding the Chancellor STOP this practice.

Yesterday the man responsible for managing the nations money justified the sale of RBS at an initial loss of a further £1Billion and Today the Independent demonstrates how “Osborne wants to sell more public assets in 12 months than Britain has in last 20 years!

Basically if WE the people continue to do nothing the current Chancellor will make sure every Public asset will soon be in one of his buddies private bank account; Is THIS what YOU want?

Have petitions like this really worked, or is this an exercise in futility? How can a petition stop the actions of a government who acts with absolute impunity? How can we know that Osborne isn’t reading such petitions and laughing, or that RTU isn’t also reading about peoples suffering , and also laughing? After all we all know that they are lacking any kind of moral compass!!!!

i agree, i think these petitions bind us as a whole, but are toothless paper tigers, furthermore, i think the Tories just laugh these off, knowing it is just another thing to blank and ignore us with, they are even ignoring supreme court demands like Mikes victory or Cait Reillys Poundland victory by changing existing laws to ignore us that way too, they are also ignoring the European courts on human rights issues. the only countries i know that do this and harm their native populations are dictatorships. usually when a government infringes upon every human right and shows a level of cruelty like this government and a heist of everything we own, simultaneously ignoring everything we ask, it can only end two ways, we just accept it and do nothing or we rise up. peaceful protests are at the moment just ending in kettling or convictions of the protesters. . ithing its going to be quiet depression or pitchforks if they carry on like this

We are mere consumers and creators of debt – which is bundled up in derivatives and sold to financial punters for a profit. If we could stop consuming and borrowing, which we can’t because wages will never reach the level they should, we would really rock the financialised boat.

“ithing its going to be quiet depression or pitchforks if they carry on like this”…………should this coming winter be anything other than mild, the first cold snap affecting the poor and/or homeless could see more than just pitchforks. Bear in the 5,000 machine rifles held by UK constabularies – they weren’t bought in for just target practice.

He is without doubt one of the worst Chancellors we’ve ever had, Brown was useless too but Osborne, he’s unreal, he’s worse, billions just p***ed away, how the hell does he still have his job!

While I agree with the sentiment, again I must warn you about your choice of language. I’ve already raised it with another commenter today. This site is intended to be for everybody; filling it up with swearing will alienate people – and that’s bad for all of us.
