Jeremy Corbyn ‘grateful’ for ideas – but they made up less than 1/14 of his speech

Last Updated: September 30, 2015By

It seems some Tories, and Tory supporters, are trying to say that Mr Corbyn’s speech was copied in its entirety from material written in the 1980s. That is a lie.

Vox Political is happy to help set the record straight with what follows – courtesy of the BBC.

[Mr Corbyn] said he was “grateful” to former political adviser Richard Heller for submitting wording to include.

But Mr Corbyn said the lines were 350 words out of a 5,000 word speech, which he hoped encompassed the “philosophy” he wants to pursue.

Mr Heller said he was “delighted” his ideas had been used.

Frankly, I couldn’t care less when or where the remarks came from or when they were first uttered, but I am truly grateful to hear them coming from Jeremy Corbyn who is the only person I know of who is likely to act upon them.
