Cleaners disciplined for writing to Tory MP about low pay. Tory says it’s not about the letter. Do you believe him?

Last Updated: October 19, 2015By

Who do you believe – a senior member of the political party that has been systematically cutting working people’s incomes for more than five years, or a group of working people who are suffering as a result of those policies?

Not exactly a trick question, is it?

A group of cleaners at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have been put under disciplinary investigation by their employers after raising the issue of their low pay in a letter to the foreign secretary, Philip Hammond.

The 14 cleaning staff were sent letters by the FCO cleaning contractor Interserve asking them to attend an interview that could lead to suspension or punishment, after they signed a joint letter to Hammond suggesting a meeting to discuss the living wage.

Three are now also facing redundancy and believe they have been targeted because of their campaigning on pay, although the FCO and its contractor Interserve insist that this is unrelated.

I believe Philip Hammond and I have recently had a full-frontal lobotomy (I assure you the two things are in no way connected…)

Guilty…… Just a tad more detailed info. on exactly what their beef was would more or less solve the case. Hopefully they exhausted their own internal processes. Private contractor once again keeping the plebs at arms length.

Interserve are the same as ATOS (A large conglomerate of people working in all types of work all bad) )
this is typical government the work is all sourced out for the minimum wage as for them to see Hammond to discuss the living wage.that will never happen as he probably never speaks to cleaners ?

I would have guessed it had Hammond’s sticky fingers all over it. B y the way, he’s a very, very rich man.

Being disciplined for an action taken outside of working hours? The democratic right for a constituent to complain to an MP? That’s totally illegal, however we know the Tories slashed Legal Aid to prevent access to Employment Tribunals and this case well illustrates why.

I never believe anything a Tory expresses from their person as they are all inveterate liars.
