Oh, well! That makes it all perfectly all right! Doesn’t it?

Tony Blair has apologised for “some of the mistakes” of the Iraq War, it was revealed on Saturday.

The former British prime minister told CNN he regretted failing to plan properly for the aftermath followed the toppling of Saddam Hussein and the false intelligence upon which justification for the invasion was built.

The apology was lablled a “prebuttal” – an attempt to pre-empt the long-delayed Chilcot Report into the war which is expected to criticise Whitehall and Westminster over the war that has come to define Blair’s public image and his premiership.

“I apologise for the fact that the intelligence we received was wrong,” Blair said during an interview with the broadcaster. “I also apologise for some of the mistakes in planning and, certainly, our mistake in our understanding of what would happen once you removed the regime.”

If the man had an ounce of integrity (he doesn’t, of course), his apology would have been made in Britain to Britain. He’s taken no responsibility for his sexed up dossier, his use and abuse of intel, real or imagined.

And Dr. Kelly why was his expertise ignored? Appreciate Blair and Campbell were far superior WMD experts and did not need inferior information from Kelly. All Blair wanted was to go to war along with Bush etc and become members of the big boys World Order club. Would be good not to have to wait 40+ years to finally get the truth ref Dr Kelly suicide, surely someone must be able to overturn that secrecy decision…….. it still stinks.
