More cuts mean privatised ‘police-for-profit’, Theresa May. Call it what it is

Who does Theresa May think she’s trying to fool?

We’ve already heard that Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire police are considering turning over their 999 lines to be run by the private firm G4S – a potentially catastrophic mistake, considering that firm’s history of bungling in the name of profit.

Now – according to Vox Political‘s sources, it seems police services are preparing to hand over power to act as members of the police to G4S and companies like it – “when the time is appropriate”.

Policing for profit.

That is the “quiet revolution” towards which Mrs May has been working for the past five years.

We all know who will lose – ordinary people like you and This Writer, who rely on the police to keep law and order, rather than to look after whoever can pay the most.

Who stands to profit?

The home secretary has warned the police and immigration services that there “is no escaping” the fact that the next round of Home Office spending cuts will mean “fewer people, fewer buildings and less room for error”.

But Theresa May also made clear in a speech in London that the need to find deep Treasury reductions would not slow the pace of “fundamental, urgent and radical reform” across her department, including continuing “the quiet revolution” in policing she has overseen over the past five years.

The Home Office is an unprotected department in the chancellor’s spending review due to be announced in two weeks. Chief constables have warned that further cuts of a minimum of 25% will involve “fundamental” change in the nature of British policing and higher reductions will threaten the future viability of some forces.

    Mike ,
thank you for highlighting this, you might be interested to know G4S are currently sub contracting a contract they have with the Department of Work and Pensions to A division of Learn Direct here in Bracknell under the Governments Community Work programme, they are endangering the lives of some severely mentally handicapped youngsters by placing them in a totally unsuitable environment in the form of a paint recycling centre with little or no ventilation and until I contacted the fire brigade here in Bracknell no fire certification , I have contacted the Mental Health Charity Mind to inform them of this situation as they are clearly breaking the mental capacity act which clearly states that they have to obtain informed consent from the individuals concerned, which they most certainly have not, G4S are a disgrace to any modern industrialised society , they appear to have no morals what so ever, only a hunger for ever larger profits even if in the process they endanger the lives of some of the most unfortunate and disturbed people in our Country.
I will stand up in court and say as much if necessary .

    Hi Mike,

They may not get away with this in Nottinghamshire, I received the following message via e-mail this morning from 38 Degrees.

“On Sunday morning, Police Commissioner Paddy Tipping appeared on the BBC Sunday Politics show to discuss G4S handling emergency 999 calls here in Nottinghamshire. He declared that G4S handling 999 calls is “not going to happen in Nottinghamshire”.

    Lets hope other areas follow.

Mike, the police service is already incorporated as a “for profit” private business. There are very few, if any Common Law coppers left. This was the real agenda behind the 1964 Royal Commision. But then the Political parties, as well as the fundamental institutions of State, are all Incorporated as For Profit businesses, as is the UK Inc. Much of this was completed under Churchill. While the rest was accomplished following 1946/19347 when the despicable UN and the statutory instrument acts were set up along with the European act.

      Citations needed.
I want to see the company details of all these organisations (barring the political parties).
