Labour MP says Corbyn critics receiving ‘vile abuse’

Last Updated: November 13, 2015By

Pot, kettle, black?

This Graham Jones character is so far off-message, the best thing he can do is just shut up and think for a while.

Corbyn allies have “taken over” Labour? NO – Tony Blair’s allies took the party over; Corbyn’s supporters have taken it back.

The public has little “appetite” for Corbyn’s welfare, economic and immigration policies? The very policies on which he was elected leader of the Labour Party? Come on!

As for “unpleasant” political backgrounds, perhaps someone should research Mr Jones’s past – he certainly hasn’t distinguished himself in the present!

A Labour MP has claimed those who have defied the party leadership have been subject to “vile abuse and pure bile” from supporters of Jeremy Corbyn.

Graham Jones, the MP for Hyndburn, told the BBC Mr Corbyn’s allies had “taken over” Labour but some of them had “unpleasant” political backgrounds.

He suggested the public had little “appetite” for Mr Corbyn’s policies on welfare, the economy and immigration.

Perhaps Graham Jones could recite some of the vile bile he refers to! It is strange that the public have overwhelmingly voted for Mr. Corbyn if they are so dissatisfied with the suggested vile comments.

The public have not overwhelmingly voted for Corbyn. It was Labour members and activists. They amount to 0.5% of the electorate. The polls suggest that Corbyn is not very popular with the wider public. Even allowing for considerable inaccuracies in polling he won’t get elected.

I am not aware of anyone critical of Jeremy Corbyn being sent “Vile Abuse”. What i am aware of however is the total wall that has been erected within Labour Party Branches as to freely giving out information to those party members who are known Momentum activists. My branch has a membership of 81, 39 of whom are new members since Jeremy was elected Labour Leader. Having sought information from officials who are working within the MP’s local office, a wall of, “dont know”, “I cant help you on that”, “you need to talk to you CLP secretary”, has existed. This is not only undemocratic, opaque, and totally unwarranted but it needs stamping out as soon as possible. Otherwise the incumbent officials are going to come under justifiable attacks on how the right wing are behaving.

quite right, about time proper Labour people had control of the party, and not the Tory Lites who stood for the leadership along with Corbyn.

Pity we don’t have PR – then the labour party could split rather than tear itself apart.

Labour won’t tear itself apart over the actions of a few spoilt brats who have risen too far above their station.

At the risk of being vile & abusive, might I suggest Mr Jones ‘sod off’ to another political party in which he would feel more at home.

Perhaps Mr Jones would do better asking his constituents how they feel about Jeremy. Not just give his own opinion. I live in Hyndburn, I am Labour, I am not happy with the antics or the comments of Mr Jones.
