The hypocrisy of Kevan Jones

Is he the same Kevan Jones who, in 2010, said: “Any idiot in opposition who argues that Government legislation can somehow be got through without programme motions should be taken out to the nearest lunatic asylum”?
This Writer was just alerted to this evidence by a commenter, who deserves our thanks for digging it out.
Doesn’t his indignation at Ken Livingstone’s words seem hypocritical, now we know he used the same rhetoric himself – long after he revealed he had suffered from mental illness?
This has serious implications for David Blunkett, and any other Labour MP or member who supported Mr Jones and called for Mr Livingstone’s removal from the defence review.
Perhaps it’s time for them to withdraw their objections and make their own apologies.

No not hypocrisy at all; Livingstone made his comments about a specific named individual whereas Jones invited only those who were idiots in opposition, a general reference and up to the idiots to identify themselves.
You’re splitting hairs. There is no substantive difference.
His comments should be made public for all to see!

Jones should have apologized to Livingstone for publicly smearing him which instigated the latter’s reaction. This is yet another attempt, in a rather long list, in the attempts by the PLP machine to undermine Corbyn.
While this is an excellent find we all know this exchange has nothing to do with ‘mental’ health and everything to do the right’s campaign to undermine and destroy Corbyn and his supporters, or 60 per cent of the party!

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Ken was out of order and quite rightly has apologised. Nothing to see here. Move along.
Wrong – Mr Jones needs to apologise as well, for creating the whole controversy.
Agreed; if calling people mentaly ill or a lunatic, when not fully qualified to do so,[ whether it be true or not] is offensive, then they are both in the wrong and it is now Mr Jones’ turn to apologise for using the mentalist card against K Livingstone.
I wonder if Kevan Jones has a short memory!
